How Diet Can Strengthen My Bones

How Diet Can Strengthen My Bones
Helpful TipsStrong BonesStrengthen Bones

Bones and connective tissue deteriorate naturally with age. If you don’t take steps to reduce this, bones can significantly weaken. Therefore, increasing your risk of injury. Sitting all day is also a negative factor in bone deterioration. Because weight-bearing helps to strengthen bones and joints. So, getting up more throughout the day will help. But, you can support bone strength further with the correct diet.

It is no secret that calcium and vitamin D3 is crucial for bone health. Bones also need potassium and magnesium. Magnesium activates enzymes that help vitamin D metabolism. To get the best results, you should take these together. Potassium helps neutralize acid to prevent calcium from being leached from bones. One sweet potato a day will provide both of these essential bone nutrients.

Eat This To Strengthen Bones

The best foods for bone strength nutrients include:

  • Calcium: green vegetables (kale, broccoli), raw dairy, yogurt, and kefir
  • Vitamin D: fatty fish like tuna and salmon, eggs, and mushrooms
  • Vitamin K: leafy greens, broccoli, cabbage, and cucumber
  • Magnesium: leafy greens, pumpkin seeds, avocado, and dark chocolate.
  • Potassium: bananas, avocado, spinach, sweet potato, salmon, and beets
  • Collagen-boosting Foods: These will strengthen and support ligaments, discs, and tendons.
  • Manganese: nuts, seeds, legumes, leafy greens, and whole grains
  • Omega-3s: nuts, fatty fish like salmon
  • Vitamin C: red and green peppers, kiwi, oranges, pineapple, strawberries, kale, and Brussels sprouts.
  • Vitamin A: liver, carrots, spinach, apricots, kale, and sweet potato
  • Sulfur: cruciferous vegetables, garlic, onion, eggs, fish, and poultry

Bone broth is also a good choice for various health benefits. As a matter of fact, broth from grass-fed beef bones is particularly beneficial. Therefore, providing collagen, amino acids, and essential minerals. Make your own or purchase bone broth to help boost bone strength.

In Conclusion

Most people think that when Popeye the Sailor Man ate spinach to get stronger, it was just a joke. However, spinach is a GREAT way to get many of the vitamins and minerals necessary to strengthen bones! So, eat more spinach and the above nutrients to help strengthen bones. You may not buff up like Popeye the Sailor Man, but it will help you be on your way to a stronger self!

You know, you cant make 100% of people happy 100% of the time. I get that. Sometimes I have gotten frustrated at SOC because of lack of communication... however when I expressed my concerns, I have had my issues fixed right away and I get calls from office managers to understand the situation and make sure mistakes don't happen again. To me that is excellence. I also LOVE Gangavalli he's super cool and explains everything so thoroughly... I am having surgery soon, and I cant fully express how awesome it is to feel so confident in my surgeon... Thanks SOC for always looking for ways to improve and for making me feel heard, and comfortable. :)read more
